I’m Heather Dawson, the licensed massage therapist and owner of Massage & Bodywork. With over 24 years of experience in the field, I believe in the body’s natural ability to heal itself, and I use my expertise to support that process. I take a compassionate, collaborative approach to each session, focusing on your unique needs and goals. My clinical education and extensive experience allow me to offer a thorough, nurturing massage that helps release tight muscles, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being.
While I specialize in deep pressure, I also incorporate flowing movements and targeted techniques to ensure each client feels restored and reconnected. Relaxation and comfort are my ultimate goal, and I pride myself on creating a warm, calming environment that caters to each individual’s preferences. In addition to individual sessions, I also specialize in couple and pair sessions, which are available by request—ideal for those looking to share a restorative experience with a loved one or friend in a peaceful, supportive setting.
I received my training from Garrett College in 1999 and continue to pursue ongoing education to refine my skills. Over the years, I’ve worked in various settings, including a private office in Davis, WV, home visits, and even a long-term care facility. Despite my experience in other areas, I’ve always found the one-on-one connection with massage clients to be the most fulfilling.
Living in McHenry, MD, I’m surrounded by beautiful mountain views and activities at Deep Creek Lake, which I love sharing with clients through relaxation and healing massage. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my two boys, Dalton and Shawn, and our fun-loving pit bull, Buddy. We live in a close-knit Appalachian family, sharing meals, gardening, and enjoying outdoor activities. Outside of work, I have a variety of hobbies, including sculpting, drawing, painting, and woodworking—always eager to learn new crafts.
